Hues of grey laiden the stallions pelt as he moved along the beach. No longer did a shadow walk beside him dancing as his hooves did. The sun had slid below the horizon basking others in its glow. Now the moon began its rise to power for the night was still young.
Rapture tossed his head lightly as he moved into a slight trot. Flints clashed with the small waves that rolled towards the shore. Along the edge where the water met the beach he moved with great grace. Knees lifted to about the middle of his chest eaching holding an enticing rythm.
Sand fled with each pound of his hooves yet he didn't notice nor care. Now Rapture slowed to a stop and turned so he faced out to where the ocean disappeared. A salty breeze came and lifted past his face and out over his frame. He closed his eyes for a moment greeting the wind calmly. Once more eyes opened to see the world. Lifting his dial he turned his gaze upward to the sky. Stars dotted the dark depths with their soft light. Rapture turned his dial slowly in a sweeping motion to take in all of the stars that spread over the ocean.
Once more he was reminded of how small he was compared to others. He led no one and called nothing his own. That was his life though and he accepted it with no second thoughts. A soft snort erupted from his chest and out his nostrils. Turning he walked along the beach once more listening to the rythm that sounded from the motion of his hooves as they met the ground once more.

xx. I'm giving up I'm giving up slowly
A white shadow upon the night, drifting through the salty breeze. Lifting her small brown head, she shifted her dark eyes to the shimmering pinpoints of light. Her gaze was hard as she felt sand prickle at her gray hooves. She snorted lightly, glad to be alone. Always trying to pry into your mind, your secrets, your past... The thought echoed through her mind, and she lowered her sleek head and continued walking along the sandy beach, ignoring her surroundings. Steadily trying to keep her thoughts from plunging into the past, she concentrated on her destination; the cool water that hungrily lapped at the shore. Her tail whisking at the mosqious that thirsted for her blood.
As she approached the water she noted a gray stallion only a few feet from where she was, her ears flicked crossly, dislodging a lock of her mane sending it cascading into her eyes. She snorted annoyedly and flicked her head upward, sending the stray white locks back into place on the side of her head. She lowered her head to the water letting the water pool around her hooves and sooth the tip of her muzzle. With that commotion, he probably heard me. In the twilight, she couldn't make out which stallion it was, and the briny flurry was disguising his scent. Not that I particularly want to know who it is... She thought, almost disgusted at herself for going to the one place where there was another horse. Like anyone would be out at night... A voice in the back of her head tried to defend her descion but she angrily pushed it away. Voices haunted her, reminding her of her mistakes, or her past, or of her bleak future. She pawed the water with her hoof sending up ripples and small splashes, she sighed quietly and lifted her dial daring to see if the horse was watching her.
xx. I'm blending in so you won't even know me Apart from this whole world that shares my fate
